System requirements

Use this page before installing LetSecure on a production server.

Operating systemLinux server or VPS.
AccessRoot or sudo access.
Service managersystemd is recommended because LetSecure installs services.
NetworkA public or reachable network interface, such as eth0, ens3, or enp1s0.
LicenseA LetSecure license key is required to enable protection.

The installer can install runtime packages automatically when one of these package managers is available:

Package managerCommon distributions
apt-getDebian, Ubuntu
dnfFedora, newer RHEL-family systems
yumCentOS, older RHEL-family systems

The installer may install these packages:

  • ca-certificates
  • curl
  • tar
  • libconfig
  • libelf
  • zlib

Package names can vary slightly by distribution.

LetSecure needs:

  • Outbound HTTPS access to download release files.
  • Access to the LetSecure CDN.
  • Inbound access to the LetCore panel port, usually 3789, from your admin IP.
  • Keep provider console access available.
  • Know your server network interface name.
  • Keep an existing SSH session open while testing protection changes.
  • Have your license key ready.
